Each sprite requires 256 color slots in a specific order. One wrong color breaks the entire sprite. Most sets are auto-generated without understanding this.

Creating palettes that work across all classes, mounts, and transformations takes years of trial and error. Most give up after just a few dozen sprites.

Every palette must be tested in-game: mounted, unmounted, transformed, different lighting. Skipping tests causes bleeding and visual artifacts.
